Glowing Season
A phone call passes through glass, leaves and borrowed light
Blue glass holds two painted leaves like a shopfront in a pond.
A woman in grey walks inside it, phone to her ear, mask on.
Tiny lights hang in the dark plants behind her.
Red letters run backwards across the glass.
Burger signs repeat in the shine above.
The mall goes on behind the door, warm and half there.
The work
Glowing Season is a photograph from 2025 by Mohit, who studies at Amity University, Haryana. Mohit often starts with a camera because it catches small details that are easy to miss. A background in painting guides the eye. Colour, texture, layers and space all matter in the frame. The hard part is balance. Mohit does not want a plain record of a place. But the image must also stay close to real life. So Mohit watches, selects and reworks the pictures until they feel honest.
In the artist’s words
“I was trying to look at an ordinary subject from a different perspective and understand what it can tell us about people, culture and everyday life. My background in painting shapes how I use photography. I wanted to balance documentation and interpretation. I observed, selected and reworked the images until they felt honest to the experience.”
