Shakibul Islam grew up in Kolkata. He did his BFA at the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata, and his post-graduation in Creative Painting at Sir J.J. School of Art, Architecture and Design, Mumbai. His work was part of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale 2025-26.
