K. Shreya
Lord durga matha
A calm white face inside a storm of black lines
Black lines crowd the paper like seeds packed in a pod.
Petals, beads and tiny wheels climb into a tall crown.
In the middle the face stays white and still.
Three red points burn: the hairline, the brow, the mouth.
A third eye opens and does not close.
The whole sheet holds the hours it took to fill.
The work
K. Shreya studies at Stanley in Hyderabad. In this drawing from 2025 she shows the goddess Durga. The face is calm and almost empty of line. Around it, every space is full. Lotus shapes, petals, beads and small wheels fill the crown, the hair and the jewellery. Only three things are red: a mark at the hairline, a dot between the brows and the lips. A third eye rests on the forehead. In her other drawings Shreya also works slowly on faces and fine detail.

In the artist’s words
Virat kohli - I was trying to draw a realistic pencil portrait. I used charcoal pencils for sketching and shading. The most difficult part was getting the facial proportions right and creating realistic hair and beard textures. 2. Peacock - I was trying to draw a colorful peacock and highlight the beauty of its feathers. I used color pencils on white paper and focused on adding bright colors and fine details. The most difficult part was drawing the many feathers neatly and making the colors look balanced and realistic. It took time and patience to complete all the details. 3.Lord Sai baba - I was trying to draw Sai Baba…
