Shared moments
No faces, yet every hand reaches for someone
Blue hands rest on a shoulder, on an arm, on a lap.
No eyes, no mouths. Only small dark marks, like rain on a window.
Behind each body a brown shadow waits, taller and older.
A red bird lands where two hands meet.
On the table sit a pink bowl and a green cup, nothing poured yet.
The yellow wall holds everyone in.
The work
Shivam Aggarwal has completed his BFA in Painting at the College of Art in Delhi. He works across painting, printmaking, sculpture and clay modelling. Here three figures sit close together behind a brown table. Their faces have no features. Their blue skin is covered in short dark marks. Brown shadows of the same shapes rise behind them. Aggarwal has a strong interest in still life. It shows in the pink bowl and the green cup at the front of the canvas.
