Round Art
A bird and a black leaf, painted onto spirals of cord
Cord turns and turns until it becomes a field.
A bird the colour of a ripe mango waits on a dark branch.
Its pink beak points at a leaf just out of reach.
Next to it a black stem climbs through a yellow sun.
Red holds everything in, like the border of a sari.
Paint sits in the grooves and catches the light in small bright ridges.
The work
Round Art is a pair of painted discs by Priyanka Nandan from Ghaziabad. Her college is Banasthali Vidyapith. Each disc is built from cord wound in a tight spiral. Nandan paints over the coils in acrylic. On one disc a bird with an orange body sits on a dark branch among green leaves. On the other a black leafy stem rises against a yellow sun on red. Her main fields are folk art, abstract art and landscape. The work dates from 2026.

In the artist’s words
My name is Priyanka Nandan, and I am a passionate artist who believes that art is not simply about colours, brushes, and canvases; it is a beautiful way of expressing emotions, ideas, experiences, and imagination. For me, art has always been a meaningful part of my life. My journey with painting began in childhood, and over the years, my interest gradually developed into a deep passion and a serious commitment to my creative work. My specialisation is mainly in Folk Art, Abstract Art, and Landscape Painting. I also enjoy creating portraits and experimenting with different subjects, techniques, colours, and compositions. I love exploring new ideas and taking up different kinds…
