Paper Dreams In The Sky
A cloud cut clean through solid stone
Grey stone combed by a slow wind that never blew.
Ridge after ridge like sky folded into a drawer.
In the middle a window shaped like a cloud.
Through it pale light from the far wall.
A small dark shape opens like a wing on a thread of rust.
The heaviest thing in the room holds something with no weight.
The work
This grey stone sculpture by Rashmeet Kaur is from 2026. It measures 35 × 42 × 20 cm. Long ridges run across the stone like wind over sand or clouds in a sky. Near the centre is an opening in the shape of a cloud. Inside it a small dark form rises on a thin stem. Kaur works in painting and sculpture. She is drawn to dreams and feelings that are hard to put into words. She lets the material guide her. She wants each viewer to find their own meaning.

In the artist’s words
My practice explores dreams, identity, emotions, and the subconscious through painting and sculpture. I am drawn to the feelings and stories that are often difficult to express in words. I work with different materials, textures, and forms to turn these thoughts into something tangible. My process involves experimentation, observation, and allowing the material to guide the work. I want my art to create a sense of curiosity and invite people to find their own meanings in it. As an emerging artist, I am interested in exploring new ways of making, learning from other artists, and discovering how art can connect personal experiences with the world around us.
