A whole hillside climbs in green steps toward the cloud
The hill is cut into steps of lime and moss.
White houses rest on the ledges like chalk left on a sill.
Behind them the ridge turns the colour of ink.
Cloud spills over its edge and keeps going.
In front the field is so bright it almost hums.
One tree on the right leans into the light.
The work
Nature is a digital work on paper from 2025. It shows a steep hill cut into narrow terraces. Small white houses sit on the ledges of land. A dark blue ridge rises behind them under a wide sky full of cloud. The marks look like wet paint that has soaked into the grain of the paper. The artist lives in Pune. She paints and teaches drawing and painting at Reena Arts. She says nature is one of the things that inspires her work.
