Blue
The sea pulls back and leaves white lace on the sand
The sky is one deep blue, poured from edge to edge.
Clouds sit on it like torn paper, each one traced in a thin dark line.
Near the shore the water turns to glass, then to green.
A wave runs out and leaves its white edges on the sand.
Wet sand holds the sky for a moment.
Far off, a dark green hill waits at the end of the beach.
The work
Ananya Sharma studies at MIT SOFA in Pune. Blue is made on a tablet with two digital brushes. A soft brush lays down the deep sky and the clear turquoise sea. A hard brush draws thin dark lines around the clouds and the white foam on the sand. Sharma is not tied to one style. The artist likes to try new ways of drawing things while polishing skills. Here the scene is simple. There is only water, sand and sky.

Normally an idea pops up in my head when I am listening to a song and haven’t watched its video. So it gives me more creative freedom to picture absolutely what I want and with whatever and whoever I want in it haha. Sometimes it’s a song, sometimes the…
