Bear roaring – doodle art
Every corner of this roar is watching you back
Black ink crowds the white page to its edges.
A bear opens its mouth and the sound is a blank space.
Two fangs hang like hooks over the dark throat.
On its brow a little skull grins back.
Eyes look out from the spirals, from the corners, from everywhere.
The paper is quiet. The drawing is not.
The work
K. Shreya makes this doodle in 2023 while studying at Stanley in Hyderabad. A bear's head fills the centre with its mouth wide open and two sharp fangs bared. A small grinning skull sits on its brow. Around it the page packs tightly with eyes, spirals, teeth and jagged shapes. Almost no gap is left empty. Much of Shreya's other work is careful realism in pencil. Here the pen moves freely and the bear grows out of crowded pattern.

In the artist’s words
Virat kohli - I was trying to draw a realistic pencil portrait. I used charcoal pencils for sketching and shading. The most difficult part was getting the facial proportions right and creating realistic hair and beard textures. 2. Peacock - I was trying to draw a colorful peacock and highlight the beauty of its feathers. I used color pencils on white paper and focused on adding bright colors and fine details. The most difficult part was drawing the many feathers neatly and making the colors look balanced and realistic. It took time and patience to complete all the details. 3.Lord Sai baba - I was trying to draw Sai Baba…
