Blooming flowers
Two flowers open wide while two still hang closed
A brown branch leans like someone listening.
Orange petals spill down in soft points, warm as a lamp at dusk.
Two buds hang low and keep their colour folded.
Behind them, small dark strokes run like grain in old wood.
A blue border of white scallops holds it all in.
Even the leaves seem to turn.
The work
Priyanka Nandan paints a single tree that bends across the board. Its brown branches carry green leaves. Each leaf is outlined in a darker line. Four flowers hang from the branches in orange and yellow. Two are open wide and two are still closed. Behind them, rows of short dark strokes fill the grey ground. A border of white scallops on blue and turquoise frames the scene. Nandan works from Ghaziabad. Folk art is one of the forms she works in most.

In the artist’s words
My name is Priyanka Nandan, and I am a passionate artist who believes that art is not simply about colours, brushes, and canvases; it is a beautiful way of expressing emotions, ideas, experiences, and imagination. For me, art has always been a meaningful part of my life. My journey with painting began in childhood, and over the years, my interest gradually developed into a deep passion and a serious commitment to my creative work. My specialisation is mainly in Folk Art, Abstract Art, and Landscape Painting. I also enjoy creating portraits and experimenting with different subjects, techniques, colours, and compositions. I love exploring new ideas and taking up different kinds…
