The work
Aniket Dharmendra Varma did his BFA in Drawing and Painting at the Sir J.J. School of Art in Mumbai. He now studies there for his MFA in Painting. His training is classical. It includes portraits, composition and outdoor studies. Landscape is a small acrylic painting, only 15 × 20 cm. A figure in pink walks on a path. A man in a dark coat sits on a low wall. Varma says nature has always moved him to try new ways of painting. Some are fully spontaneous. Some are planned.

In the artist’s words
I am Aniket Dharmendra Varma. completed my Bachelor of Fine Art specializing in Drawing and Painting at the Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai. Currently pursuing MFA in Painting, Through my academic practices which has helped me in various disciplines to understand the foundations of drawing and painting. Studying in classical methods like portraiture, composition, outdoor studies has played important role in my art practice. Nature is almighty and have always motivated me to explore in different approaches, whether it is fully spontaneous or conscious. my practice grows out of everyday experiences, shaped by memories from both the past and the present experiences, Rather than following afixed theme.
