Dream walker
An elephant on legs like thread, walking into the evening
Purple settles at the top of the sky like ink dropped in water.
Lower down it thins to rose, then green, then the yellow of old paper.
An elephant stands on four lines as thin as thread.
A small figure rides its back. A small creature clings to its tusk.
Below, a man in a green robe holds a loose rope.
A white moon waits by the dark hills.
Nobody hurries.
The work
Bhumika of Amity University Rajasthan makes Dream walker in 2025. The work measures 75 × 55 cm. Watercolour and ink wash the sky in soft bands, from deep purple at the top to pale yellow near the ground. Against this sky a tall elephant stands on very thin legs. A small figure rides on its back. A man in a long green robe waits below with a rope. Bhumika describes the work as an attempt to make something about life.
In the artist’s words
“I was trying to create something related to life. In my other two series of works I was just experimenting with my dreams.”
