The thinking
A pale statue on blue cloth, watched by drawn ghosts
Plaster skin holds pink at its edges, like a cheek near a lamp.
The blue cloth is night folded over a wooden stand.
Small white stars and coils are scratched into the dark.
A green creature climbs the left wall on its yellow spine.
On the right, an elephant and its people are only lines of light.
The statue lifts one hand, as if to speak first.
The work
Prem Shriwas studies at the Government Institute of Fine Arts in Indore. In The thinking, a white cast of a female figure stands on a wooden stand. Behind it hangs a deep blue cloth marked with small white stars and spirals. A blue creature with a yellow spine climbs the left edge. On the right, thin yellow lines draw an elephant head and human figures. Shriwas also makes sculpture and miniature paintings. Here he paints a sculpture in oil and lets drawn figures gather around it.

Each medium teaches me something new and shapes my growth as an artist. One of my works, The Blue, is an abstract clay sculpture that explores balance, movement, and harmony through flowing forms. Rather than depicting a recognizable object, I wanted to create an open form that invites viewers to interpret it in their own way. The blue…
