Whispers of sea
The whole coast fits in the palm of a hand
Two dark fronds lean in from somewhere we cannot see.
Below them the sea is the blue of a school notebook.
Clouds rest on the horizon like folded cotton.
On the left the rocks keep still and warm.
On the right a wave lifts its white edge
and stops there, held in paint,
never reaching the sand.
The work
Whispers of sea is an acrylic painting by Pooja Nannaware from 2024. Her college is MGM in Aurangabad. The painting is very small. It measures 6 × 6 cm. A blue sea fills the middle. Soft white clouds float above it. Brown rocks sit low on the left. On the right a wave breaks into white foam. Two dark palm leaves hang down from the top edge. Nannaware paints the foam with short light strokes so the water seems to move.

The lotus represents beauty, spiritual growth, and peace, which are the main feelings I wanted to express through this artwork. I chose a bright orange background to create a warm and positive atmosphere. The pink and red flowers provide contrast against the background, while the green leaves add balance to the…
